The Sandwich Public Schools has an opening for a Full Year Administrative Assistant at the Sandwich Middle High School.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Subject to the Collective Bargaining Agreement
- 52 week work year = 261 days
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of High School diploma
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Attention to detail, proactive and problem solver
- Excellent organizational skills
- Possesses a combination of clerical skills to include typing, filing, record keeping, bookkeeping, word and data processing, and other related clerical skills as the position demands.
- Ability to multi-task and work in-high paced environment.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheets and web-based applications
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Department may find appropriate and acceptable.
- A sense of humor and a proven ability to work in a polite and friendly manner with all staff members and with the larger educational community.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
- Collect various student fees and maintain Student Activity accounts
- Maintain student information system records
- Assists with report cards
- Maintain office equipment
- Organize meetings, process registrations and withdrawals
- Work with the yearly budget including creating POs, ordering, and coordinating payments with Business Office
- State reporting regarding student attendance and discipline
- Yearly school opening and closing
- Coordinate graduation and award ceremonies
- General office duties - mail, email, phone, filing, maintain calendars, supplies
- Greet all visitors and process visitor passes
- Assist administration, staff and students as needed
- Assist with staffing needs / coordinate substitutes
- Assist with student forms
- Answer and distribute phone calls
COMPENSATION: Per the Administrative Assistants Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the Sandwich website. FY27 Range: $30.30/hr. - $37.37/hr. based on experience and an 8 step pay scale.
