Role Description The Certified Pharmacy Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Newton, MA. This role supports licensed pharmacists by accurately processing prescriptions, preparing medications, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting patients at the pharmacy counter, answering questions about prescriptions and services within scope of practice, and providing prompt, courteous customer service. The technician helps manage inventory by receiving, organizing, and tracking medications and supplies, as well as monitoring expiration dates and stock levels. Additional tasks include operating pharmacy systems, maintaining clean and safe work areas, and collaborating with pharmacy team members to support efficient, high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to process and handle prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations and workflows; experience working as or with pharmacy technicians.
- Skills in inventory control, including stocking, tracking, and rotating pharmacy supplies and medications.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally.
- Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential and compliance with state licensing or registration requirements.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems, basic data entry, and point-of-sale procedures.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior retail or healthcare pharmacy experience preferred.
