The Town of Wellesley is seeking a full-time (40 hour) Office Assistant for the Water and Sewer Division of the Department of Public Works.
Reporting to the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, and working closely with the Office Administrator, the Office Assistant serves as an initial point of communication for the Division, providing exceptional customer service to residents and contractors while supporting the daily operations of the Town’s essential public services through coordinating office and field operations. Responsibilities include dispatching work crews for routine and emergency service calls, preparing work orders, processing applications, purchase orders, invoices, payroll, maintaining inventory records, preparing reports, coordinating bid documents, and responding to inquiries from residents, contractors, and other Town departments. The position also assists with public communications through the Town's website and social media platforms, billing, scheduling, and general administrative support in a fast-paced office environment.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and prior administrative or office experience. Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and computer skills are required. The ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain accurate records is essential.
Salary range: $29.34 - $38.48 per hour, depending on qualifications.
