Salary Range: $78,000 - $95,000
SUMMARY: The Purchasing /Supply Chain Analyst's responsibility is to ensure Materials & MRO are delivered to the manufacturing plant on time and within budget guidelines. This is done by utilizing our MRP System within SAP. The responsibilities of this role are to maintain a strong working relationship with our key suppliers, while ensuring cost competitiveness. This position also requires support to all areas of manufacturing to ensure supplier performance is maintained and quality standards are reviewed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with key suppliers
- Work with the Costing team to maintain an accurate database of key responsible suppliers including accurate pricing
- Interact with project/stakeholders on a multi-location/function basis to ensure commodity strategies and needs are being executed as desired
- Summarize and compare quotes to achieve best overall cost advantage
- Develop alternate sources and vendors, ensuring competitive pricing, and being aware of non-price considerations
- Work with engineering to coordinate the procurement of tooling, raw materials, and all commodities capital projects
- Place purchase orders for a variety of commodities, materials and supplies based on program requirements
- Compile data from variety of sources for analyzing and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and monitoring of purchasing processes
- Ensure lead times are communicated to management to reflect actual delivery information from supplier. Advise management of market conditions and supplier base activity which could affect pricing and/or delivery. Update this information twice weekly
- Work with the Chemistry department to gain familiarity with the end use of purchased commodities, leading to the possibility of alternate materials or specifications
- Coordinate purchases with finance, engineering, and various other departments
- Coordinate with the quality team to evaluate suppliers through methods such as supplier visits and various objective performance measurements, including on-time delivery, service performance, price performance and annual purchasing objectives
- Manage relationships with suppliers to improve supplier performance, streamline agreements, create better cooperation and integration, and deliver improved results
- Use MRP systems to monitor and expedite materials to support the Production Planning Team. Manage day-to-day material demand for the factory to ensure safety stocks and lead times are always current
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS or AS degree in Business Administration or related field, or 3-5 years of Purchasing experience in a Manufacturing environment, preferably in the Automotive, Aerospace, Rubber or Plastics industries; or equivalent combination of education and experience

- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to multi-task
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work environment consists mostly of office setting but must be able to work in manufacturing environment that may have exposure to noise, varying temperatures, smells and chemicals
- Must be able to use personal protective equipment PPE when necessary
- Quiet noise levels for 2/3 of the time or more
