We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated NMR Applications Spectroscopist to provide advanced scientific and technical support for JEOL NMR systems, working closely with customers as well as internal Sales, Marketing, Service, and R&D teams. This role combines hands-on NMR expertise with customer-facing activities, technical training, and product advocacy, contributing directly to customer success and continuous improvement of JEOL NMR products.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide high-level technical and scientific support to JEOL NMR customers before and after system installation
· Implement, demonstrate, and optimize NMR experiments and methodologies for customer applications
· Conduct customer training sessions on JEOL NMR hardware, software, and modern NMR techniques
· Support Sales and Marketing through technical consultations, pre-sales demonstrations, and application discussions
· Advise customers and internal teams on experimental design, feasibility, and best practices for NMR spectroscopy
· Attend scientific conferences, workshops, and user meetings to stay current with modern NMR methods and application trends
· Promote the JEOL NMR product line through technical presentations, application notes, and customer interactions
· Serve as a technical liaison between customers and JEOL R&D, providing structured feedback for product and software improvement
Qualifications
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams
· Hands-on proficiency with implementation of NMR experiments on at least one major platform (JEOL, Bruker, or Varian/Agilent)
· Solid knowledge of common NMR techniques used in small-molecule and organic chemistry applications (e.g., 1D/2D NMR, multinuclear experiments)
· Master’s degree (MS) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, or a related scientific field
· Independent and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple technical tasks and customer engagements
· Prior industrial, applications, or customer-facing experience in NMR spectroscopy
· Familiarity with modern and advanced NMR methods beyond routine experiments

Salary Base Minimum: $90,000 - Salary Base Maximum $100,000, plus up to 10% incentive. The base range above represents the low and high end of the JEOL salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on several factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition, JEOL provides a variety of benefits to eligible employees including health and dental insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a 401K plan with company match and contribution, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays, paid sick time, and paid vacation.
