Junior Art Director
Overview
OMG. A real job. Are you ready? Your book says you are. You’ve got good ideas, good taste, and a good attitude. You fancy yourself an artist. But you realize if you want anything fancy in your life, you’ve gotta make some money. Why not make it doing art for business? Yeah, it’s a little dirty. But here’s the catch. At Argus, we do it for good. We do it to help people. So you get the best of about three different worlds. You get to make art, make money, help people, and have a few laughs. All in a day’s work! There will be some long days of work, but who cares, ideas never sleep and you probably don’t either. So if this sounds kind of interesting, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
- Support a senior creative team with concept and design across everything with campaigns, brands, social, film, weird one-offs that don’t fit in a neat box
- Work alongside writers, strategists, and other creatives to build ideas (not just executions)
- Bring taste to type, image, composition, motion, all of it
- Take feedback without getting precious and push back when it matters
- Sweat the details and the big idea
- Help make the work better, not just yours but everyone’s
What you bring
- 0–3 years experience (agency, studio, or scrappy self-made path—we don’t care how you got here)
- A portfolio with brand ideas in it.
- Strong design skills: typography, layout, hierarchy, systems
- Curiosity about the world beyond advertising
- A point of view (even if it’s still forming)
- The ability to move fast without getting sloppy
- Energy. We can feel it or we can’t.
