Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for Direct Care Staff at Better Community Living, located in New Bedford, MA. The Direct Care Staff will provide support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being. Responsibilities include implementing care plans, assisting with personal care, fostering community engagement, managing activities, and supporting the development of life skills. The role requires continuous collaboration with team members to enhance the lives of the individuals served.
Qualifications
- Background in Human Services or experience working with developmental disabilities
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills to effectively connect with individuals, families, and team members
- Demonstrated ability in Training and mentoring individuals to achieve personal goals
- Empathy, patience, and a passion for enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities
- Flexibility to adapt to various needs and situations
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in human services or related fields are a plus
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license preferred
