PACE, Inc. is seeking a qualified Cook to join our Head Start Program
team! Head Start and Early Head Start provide family-centered child
development programming for over 200+ income-eligible families with
children from birth to age 5 living in the Greater New Bedford area. We
are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience preparing meals for over 100+
children daily ? High School diploma or GED preferred ? Ability to work
independently ? Experience in quantity food purchasing ? Knowledge of
proper sanitation and food safety practices ? School food service
experience preferred ? SERV Safe Certification required (within 90 days
of hiring) ? Valid driver?s license required ? Must be physically able
to climb stairs, stand, bend, walk continuously throughout the workday,
lift and carry items weighing up to 60 lbs. ? Must meet state and
federal mandates pertaining to credentials and professional development
- Ability to pass CORI and DCF background checks. This position is
responsible for preparing nutritious meals: breakfast, lunch and snacks
for preschool children and classroom staff for our Head Start and Early
Head Start Program. The meals will be consistently prepared in
accordance with federal and state guidelines using the best nutrition
and food processing practices. Compensation: \$20.96 - \$25.96 per hour,
plus an additional \$1.00 for a dual language speaker; 35 hours per
