Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in residential homes and light commercial buildings, including water supply lines, drainage systems, and fixtures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute plumbing layouts.
- Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding techniques to complete installations and repairs efficiently.
- Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify issues related to leaks, blockages, or mechanical failures.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to ensure plumbing work integrates seamlessly with other trades such as carpentry or HVAC systems.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed for compliance and quality assurance.
- Operate construction vehicles safely for transporting materials or equipment as needed for project sites.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction plumbing with a solid understanding of plumbing codes and safety standards.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems, pipe threading, welding techniques, and schematic interpretation.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, construction site safety protocols, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Experience with remodeling projects, maintenance work, or handyman tasks that require versatile skills in assembly or carpentry.
- Strong field service background with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site quickly and effectively.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in confined or elevated spaces; familiarity with construction site experience is preferred.
