Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Toolmaker with a minimum of 5 years of toolmaking experience. This role is critical in supporting our development and production teams by manufacturing the tooling needed for forming, machining, welding, and various other shop tasks.
The ideal candidate has experience with machining, including manual and CNC operations, along with interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and aerospace specifications, and a solid understanding of CNC programing.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture of new tooling:
- Manufacture new tooling from provided blueprints and schematics
- Assemble new tooling and observe first time usage by development dept.
- Adjust or rework tooling depending on results of first time trials
Existing tooling maintenance:
- Maintain existing tooling to keep peak production performance
- Includes sharpening, polishing, and rebuilding worn components
CNC programing:
- Use Mastercam to program and machine tooling components
- 2, 3 and 5 axis programming
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of toolmaking experience(REQUIRED)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Manual and CNC Mill
- Manual and CNC Lathe
- Vertical Lathe (VTL)
- Surface grinding
- Wire EDM
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
