Overview
We are seeking a strong, experienced Business Analyst to support Medical Affairs initiatives within a Commercial life sciences environment. This role will partner closely with Medical Communications, Commercial teams, and IT to define business and data requirements that support HCP engagement and compliant content management processes.
The ideal candidate brings excellent BA skills combined with hands-on experience in Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault, and data-driven initiatives within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong stakeholder engagement, clear documentation, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable system and data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements across Medical Affairs and Commercial programs
- Partner with stakeholders across Medical Communications, Grants Management, and Commercial teams to identify process improvements and system enhancements
- Translate business needs into user stories, process flows, and detailed functional specifications
- Support initiatives involving Veeva CRM and Veeva Vault, ensuring alignment between business requirements and system capabilities
- Support Grants Management processes, including tracking, workflows, and compliance for investigator-initiated studies (IIS), HCP funding, and related activities
- Collaborate with stakeholders on systems supporting Grants Management (e.g., IQVIA Grants or similar platforms)
- Define data requirements and partner with data and analytics teams to enable reporting, dashboards, and insight generation
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions across Medical, Commercial, IT, Compliance, and Data teams
- Support testing, validation, documentation, and user adoption activities
- Ensure solutions align with regulatory and compliance standards within Medical Affairs
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Business Analyst experience within life sciences, pharma, or biotech
- Strong Commercial experience with exposure to Medical Affairs organizations
- Hands-on experience with Veeva CRM and Veeva Vault
- Experience with Grants Management processes within Medical Affairs (e.g.,IIS, HCP funding, compliance workflows)
- Exposure to or experience working with IQVIA platforms or similar vendor systems
- Experience supporting Medical Communications processes
- Experience working with data, reporting, or analytics initiatives
- Proven ability to write clear business requirements, user stories, and process documentation
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting HCP engagement initiatives
- Experience with IQVIA Grants or other Grants Management platforms
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Confluence
- Experience collaborating with data engineering or analytics teams
- Understanding of compliance and regulatory considerations within Medical Affairs
