HR Operations Manager (People Operations)
Hybrid - Massachusetts
Damora Therapeutics is an innovative biotechnology company that aims to fundamentally redefine care for people with hematologic disorders. We are advancing a new generation of biologics to treat mutant calreticulin-driven myeloproliferative neoplasms, including essential thrombocythemia and myelofibrosis, where there is significant medical need for new disease-modifying treatments. With multiple programs with best-in-class potential on track to enter clinical development in 2026, our goal is to rapidly bring forward optimized treatments with broad mutation coverage and exceptional convenience to dramatically improve patient outcomes.
This is a unique opportunity to join a science-driven company at a formative stage, where early clinical data will directly shape development strategy and drive long-term value. The right candidate will join a team with significant early- and late-stage development experience, with the goal of quickly moving through dose escalation/expansion into pivotal trials.
The Role
We are looking for an HR Operations Manager to build and scale our people operations from the ground up. This is a high-impact, hands-on role at a pivotal stage of growth. You’ll own the core operational foundation of HR—designing and running the processes, systems, and experiences that support our employees and enable the business to scale. You’ll partner across the company to support the full employee lifecycle, balancing day-to-day execution with building the structure and tools we’ll rely on as we grow. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating order from ambiguity, takes pride in operational excellence, is motivated by building something that lasts, and cares deeply about the employee experience.
What You’ll Do
- Own and execute core HR operations across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, job changes, offboarding), ensuring a high-quality and consistent employee experience
- Own and run benefits administration end-to-end, including vendor management, enrollments, employee support, and continuous improvement of the benefits experience
- Lead the design and evolution of Damora’s HR tech stack (HRIS, ATS, and related tools), including system selection, implementation, and ongoing optimization
- Maintain accurate and reliable employee data across systems; establish strong data integrity, reporting, and audit-ready practices
- Design and implement scalable HR processes, workflows, and documentation (SOPs, playbooks, templates)
- Serve as a trusted first point of contact for employee HR questions, providing clear, responsive, and thoughtful support
- Partner with Finance on payroll operations (Finance-owned), ensuring accurate employee data, smooth handoffs, and a seamless employee experience
- Identify inefficiencies and implement simple, scalable solutions that improve how work gets done
- Support the rollout of key people programs (e.g., engagement, learning, internal communications)
- Provide light support for recruiting operations (TA-owned), including interview coordination and candidate experience as needed
What You’ll Bring
- 4–7+ years of experience in HR operations, HR administration, or similar roles
- Hands-on experience owning benefits administration and working directly with brokers and vendors preferred
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment (biotech a plus)
- Experience implementing or optimizing HR systems (HRIS required; ATS experience a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Sound judgment and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Clear, practical communication style and ability to work across teams
- Experience working cross-functionally and with employees at all levels of the organization
