Police DispatcherGrade 7.5 $25.70 per hour**Effective 7/1/2026 rate of pay will be $28.91 per hourStatement of Duties: The Police Dispatcher is responsible for answering 911 fire, medical, and police calls, non-emergency phones, dispatching officers and EMS/Fire to locations given and talks and takes statements from the general public at the counter and writes reports. The Dispatcher also enters calls on the computer so that the officers can keep track of where they were dispatched and can finish the call in the cruiser. Employee is required to perform all similar or related duties.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Answers 911 and non-emergency phone lines.Responsible for accurate information being sent to officers in cruisers over the radio.Assists the general public with any questions or complaints.Performs record checks for motor vehicles and warrant checks.Handles walk-in reports.Monitors radio for inter-town calls.Enter, locate and cancel data regarding stolen motor vehicles in LEAPS/NCIC and missing persons.Answers calls for towing; calls Springfield District court to establish bail.
