Job Description:
The Dispensary Purchaser is responsible for the procurement needs for all of the Dispensary locations as well as Marketing-related purchases. This role utilizes data analysis and negotiation to support dispensary and company profitability and operational success. The Purchaser plays a key role in maintaining efficient production flow, ensuring inventory accuracy, and supporting quality, compliance, and departmental communication. The Purchaser is expected to be onsite at each dispensary a minimum of one day a week to ensure that they are connecting with Dispensary leadership in person and assessing the needs of the dispensary directly.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Works with internal Operations to be sure that adequate and appropriate Bountiful Farms’ product is stocked at all times, manages Leaf trade invoices for the Dispensary locations, as well as adjusted invoice pricing.
- Builds and maintains strong business relationships with the appropriate vendors and brands.
- Utilizes strong working relationships with brands to creatively structure success at the store level
and ensures that all vendors are supporting our locations to maximum potential.
- Manages all vendor related dispensary engagement, including but not limited to, Pop-ups,
budtender education, event participation, vendor sponsored promotions, instore marketing supports.
- Participates in promotional conversations based on current inventory and ensures that any future promotions are supported with appropriate inventory.
- Conducts continuous analysis of the performance of product instore, as well as analysis of our competitive radius and their inventory and pricing structures.
- Maintains the appropriate cannabis inventory in accordance with Management ‘Menu Strategies.’ Purchaser is involved in assessing the menu strategy and suggests updates as needed based on analysis.
- Maintains appropriate inventory of accessories and merchandise in store, sources cost savings and analyzes performance.
- Maintains stock of all necessary business operation needs, including but not limited to, office supplies, breakroom needs, maintenance needs.
- Utilize tools such as Dutchie Backoffice reports and BDSA to access data and provide summarized reports to the management team as well as suggestions based on the findings for instore improvements.
- Maintains compliance with all company SOPs, safety standards, sanitation protocols, and regulatory requirements, escalating any issues that arise.
- Reports any potential contamination, discrepancies, or unsafe practices to management immediately.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
- Experience and understanding of wholesale and purchasing practices, specifically in the cannabis
market AND/OR Experience in working Retail in the Cannabis field.
- Experience with Metrc is highly desirable.
- Experience with Point-Of-Sale system Dutchie is highly desirable.
Knowledge:
- Administrative - Knowledge of administrative tasks, Metrc and Dutchie
- Computer Software — Knowledge and proficiency in basic computer navigation, and Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge and understanding of state and local cannabis laws and how they apply to the operations of Bountiful Farms’ products.
- Data Analysis – Knowledge and understanding of Metrc and Dutchie systems
- Knowledge and understanding of retail cash transactions include cash and credit card transactions, calculating discounts, balancing a cash drawer, and cash safety.
- Knowledge and understanding of state and local cannabis laws and how they apply to the operations of Bountiful Farms’ products and dispensing of medical and/or adult use cannabis (as applicable for the location assigned).
- Comprehensive Knowledge of Cannabis; its uses, properties, chemical interaction in the body, medical applications etc. Maintains current knowledge of emerging research and information in the Cannabis Market.

Builds mutually beneficial agreements that align with menu strategy, promotional plans, compliance requirements, and operational needs while maintaining strong, professional vendor relationships.

Additional Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older and comply with all legal or company regulation requirements for working in the industry.

- Reliable transportation required.
- Current, valid driver’s license as driving is required between dispensaries and possibly vendors and outside events.
- Fluent in the English language, both verbal and written.
Physical Abilities:
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, balance and/or move freely on the dispensary floor or within the Vault for prolonged periods of time (up to 10 hours)
- Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Frequently lift, move, carry, and balance up to 30 pounds.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds when intaking large deliveries in the vault
- Reach and twist/turn with hands and arms
- Motor coordination is required to coordinate eyes, hands, fingers, and feet accurately and handle precise movements.
- Speaking or hearing – face-to-face, in person, by telephone, and by video conferencing.
- Repetitive hand and arm motions for extended periods (up to 10 hours).
- Both gross and fine manipulation to operate various tools and equipment with great accuracy
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
- Regular operation of weighing scales, computer equipment, and electronic screens.
- Independent driving is required
Workplace Environmental Conditions:
- While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee is exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels. Occasional exposure to moderate to loud noise levels and artificial lights.
- Fast-paced highly regulated retail sales environment requiring attention to detail and adherence to strict compliance policies.
- Potential to work in high stress situations.
- Occasional travel to state-wide cannabis events to represent the Bountiful Farms’ brand.
Schedule Requirements:
- Regularly working Monday - Friday 8am-5pm, but occasional weekends or nights as needed.
- Expected to be on site at each dispensary at min one day a week; Rowley and Framingham.
- Exempt position: additional hours or days may be required to meet the goals and objectives of the position.
