OFFICE ASSISTANT - GRADE 1
ELECTION OFFICE
FULL-TIME (36 HOURS PER WEEK)
PAY: $21.15 TO $32.19 PER HOUR
This position performs general clerical and administrative duties to support the many functions of the Election office.
Essential Functions
- Assists in the preparation of elections including but not limited to the processing of absentee ballots, as well as support materials needed for election day.
- Maintains and update voter registration records
- Participates in the recruiting and training of all poll workers
- Participates in the processing of the annual census and enters updated information into the department’s database management software.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties as required including purchase of office supplies, answering the department telephone, responding to inquiries and maintaining department records.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or an equivalent Apprentice level of trade knowledge; a minimum of one to three (1-3) years prior office experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
