Summary – The Production Scheduler’s primary role is to offer scheduling and forecasting support to the Production Scheduler 1, and /or Demand Team. Utilizing data and forecast information from the Demand Team in establishing the most efficient and cost-effective production schedule possible.
This person will utilize computer systems to assist with complete production scheduling, review finished goods inventory levels, as well as assist with coordination between Production, Customer Solutions, Logistics and Procurement. This person will need to have great organizational and people skills, and a “can do” attitude to be successful in this position. A successful candidate will be a driven individual with high energy, while demonstrating a sense of urgency and ability in a high performance-manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Schedule production to meet customer orders, production efficiency and profitability goals utilizing appropriate software solutions in place. This includes scheduling work orders onto pumps/chillers based on availability.
- Respond to and resolve real-time production delays based on a variety of causes.
- Coordinate with the Procurement department regarding ingredient availability required to start, support, and complete the manufacturing process in accordance with manufacturing specifications. Will need to adjust schedules if there are raw ingredient shortages.
- Assist with the coordinate with Sales/Logistics Departments to facilitate order fulfillment
- Responsible for recipe and work order review
- Production Scheduling should support daily capacity targets agreed upon by Ops and the Demand Team
- Utilize capacity requirement planning to ensure availability of machine capacities and processing abilities to support the production schedule in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Other duties with similar skills, work conditions, and responsibilities as assigned.
- Collaborates daily with other departments to esnure feasibility and adherene to the plan.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 2+ years of manufacturing production scheduling – food manufacturing preferred.
- Microsoft Office and ERP experience required.
- Planning or forecasting experience preferred.
