Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Sheet Metal Journeyman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of copper roofing systems, precision fabrication, soldering, and installation of architectural sheet metal details.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, install, and solder copper roofing systems including standing seam, flat seam, batten seam, and custom flashing details.
- Perform detailed work on gutters, downspouts, cornices, domes, and other architectural copper features.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Operate sheet metal machinery (brakes, shears, rollers) safely and efficiently.
- Inspect work to ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality control.
- Collaborate with foremen, project managers, and team members to meet project timelines.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with OSHA standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience in architectural sheet metal roofing, specializing in copper.
- Proficient in soldering, layout, and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to work at heights and use safety harnesses and fall protection gear.
- Strong knowledge of hand and power tools related to sheet metal work.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- OSHA 10 or 30 Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to craftsmanship.
