Director of Business Development – Healthcare & Hospitals Genuine Foods | Remote (with travel)

Genuine Foods is seeking a high-performing Director of Business Development – Healthcare & Hospitals to lead strategic sales growth within hospital foodservice operations. This role focuses on identifying and securing new opportunities, building strong relationships with healthcare institutions, and delivering compelling, customized proposals that align with client priorities.

Applicants must have prior experience selling contract foodservice management in healthcare settings. This is a remote position with significant travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Development: Build and manage a robust pipeline across hospitals and healthcare facilities; lead all phases of the sales cycle from discovery to contract execution.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement territory-level sales strategies aligned with corporate objectives and market potential.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate lasting relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within hospitals and healthcare systems.
  • Proposal Leadership: Evaluate and respond to complex RFPs and RFIs; lead proposal development, pricing strategy, and presentations tailored to institutional needs.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Finance, Culinary, and Marketing to deliver integrated, client-focused solutions.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline visibility, and CRM data integrity. Provide timely insights to senior leadership.
  • Market Intelligence: Analyze competitive activity, trends, and emerging healthcare needs to refine Genuine Foods’ value proposition.
  • Internal Enablement: Drive cross-team communication to ensure alignment between Business Development and internal support functions.
  • Client Engagement: Coordinate tastings, site visits, and meetings to build trust and showcase Genuine Foods’ culinary and operational capabilities.
  • Minimum 5 years of consultative sales experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience selling contract foodservice to hospitals or healthcare institutions.
  • Proven track record of securing multimillion-dollar accounts and negotiating at the executive level.
  • Experience developing financial models and analyzing RFPs for strategic fit.
  • Strong understanding of hospital operational requirements, compliance standards, and procurement processes.
  • Ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across internal departments.
  • Skilled communicator with exceptional negotiation and closing skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable in high-growth, mission-driven environments.
