Job Summary

We’re seeking a dynamic, road-ready Area Sales Manager to drive growth across our retail partnerships, foster brand awareness, and support our distribution channels. This position requires you to be out in the field 4+ days a week, engaging with retailers, working hands-on to ensure effective in-store marketing, and building relationships with distributors. You'll be instrumental in driving visibility and sales for Loco Coffee across your area, with the flexibility of working remotely for administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Retail Engagement & Sales Growth: Actively engage with retail accounts to increase product velocity at the store level. Partner with store managers to gain incremental placements, secure displays, and ensure strong Loco Coffee representation. Expect to be in stores 4+ days per week to maximize brand presence.
  • Distributor Partnerships: Collaborate with distributors and their field teams to open new accounts, align on sales goals, and ensure execution of Loco Coffee programs, using tools and materials to drive awareness and sales.
  • Field Marketing & Event Strategy: Execute in-store promotions, product demos, and sampling events to drive customer engagement. Coordinate brand activations, tradeshows, and regional events as part of our go-to-market strategy.
  • Account Management: Conduct regular route rides with distributor reps to support product placement, merchandising standards, and promotional activities. Visit approximately 40-50 accounts weekly, with the majority of your time spent on the road optimizing for high-impact interactions.
  • Data-Driven Analysis: Track and analyze territory performance to identify improvement areas, collaborate with Loco’s management on pricing and promotional opportunities, and maintain sales data for monthly and quarterly reviews.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: 1-3 years in sales, preferably in food and beverage or consumer packaged goods (CPG).
  • Skills: Strong relationship-building, organizational, and project management abilities, with experience in route planning, distributor management, and field marketing.
  • Attitude: A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment. You’re adaptable, curious, and focused on solutions to achieve sales growth.
  • Technical: Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and familiarity with CRM tools to document field visits and account performance.
  • Physical: Able to lift up to 50 lbs and maintain a high level of activity in the field. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
