Red Oak seeks to add a Vice President, Strategy & Analytics, to become part of our Senior Leadership Team and contribute to and help shape our bright future.
Location: The team currently operates in a hybrid model (Monday’s and Friday’s work from home, with Tuesday through Thursday being in-office)
Position summary:
We are seeking a visionary and data-driven Vice President of Strategy & Analytics to lead our strategic planning and analytics initiatives. This leader will play a critical role in shaping our long-term direction, leveraging data insights to inform decision-making, drive growth, and enhance operational performance across Red Oak Sourcing. The VP will also play a critical role in preparing and presenting insights to senior executives and the Board of Directors, ensuring transparency, alignment, and clarity.
Primary responsibilities:
- Works closely with the President and other leaders of Red Oak to develop organic and inorganic growth initiatives.
- Provides leadership and direction to Strategy and Analytics team focused on strategic planning, sourcing analytics, supplier and regulatory insights. Foster a collaborative, data-driven culture that supports innovation and operational excellence.
- Monitor geopolitical, regulatory and market dynamics that may affect Red Oak supply chain.
- Prepare regular briefings and presentations for senior leadership and the Board of Directors; Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives that support strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Lead the resolution of highly complex, cross-functional, or unusual business challenges related to generic pharmaceutical sourcing, supplier performance, regulatory shifts or supply chain disruptions.
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies and advanced analytics to evaluate scenarios, develop strategic options and drive effective solutions.
- Partner with Red Oak Sourcing leaders in Sourcing, Finance, Operations and Legal to align on business goals; serve as a though partner to C-level leadership on strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., engineering, science, finance); master’s degree in business administration, 10+ years’ experience in related field
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive cultural alignment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels including executive leadership and the Board.
- Skilled in distilling complex analytical insights into compelling narratives that drive strategic success.
- Results driven with proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen
- Experience preparing executive and board-level materials, with excellent communication and storytelling skills.
- Superior Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong technical fluency in analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
- Ability and willingness to travel (up to 10%) to conferences and industry partner sites, primarily domestic, limited international.
- Ability and willingness to actively participate in business meetings with industry partners scheduled after traditional close of business (up to 20%) such as dinner meetings.
