Role: Full Time Receptionist / Front Office Role

Location: MASS SCRAP – Leominster, MA

MASS SCRAP is a brand-new, family-owned scrap metal yard in Leominster. We are building our team from the ground up and looking for one reliable, detail-oriented person to run our front office.

This is a permanent, full-time, in-office role. There is no remote option.

If you are dependable, detail driven, and responsible, this could be a long-term opportunity with room to grow.

Schedule

Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Weekly payroll (you are paid every week)

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be the front desk. You will handle customers selling scrap, process payments, and work within Quickbooks to pay bills and write invoices.

You will often work independently.

Front Office & Customer Service

Greet walk-in customers
Collect ID and required paperwork for scrap purchases
Answer phones and take messages
Communicate clearly with yard staff
Keep the office clean and organized

Customer Payments

You will be responsible for:

Calculating scrap payouts using provided weights and price sheets
Paying customers in cash or check
Counting and reconciling the cash drawer
Preparing and balancing daily deposits
Verifying transaction accuracy before payment
Processing weekly payroll

Accuracy matters. Math mistakes and carelessness will not work in this role.

This is a high-trust position. Integrity is non-negotiable.

Administrative Work

Data entry into our inventory system
Typing invoices and purchase slips
Filing and maintaining organized records
Light office cleaning
General office support as needed

What We’re Looking For

Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, and multiplication required daily)
High attention to detail
Ability to follow directions
Comfortable working alone in the office at times
Reliable transportation
Professional but straightforward communication style
Able to pass background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

Previous cash handling experience
1+ year customer service or cashier experience
Microsoft Office / Google Workspace experience
QuickBooks experience
Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese a plus)

High school diploma preferred but not required for the right person.
